"An individual leads a life with dreams, a life in daylight. Dreams offer a kind of extrasensory perception, leading some to believe that dreams are the reality, and daytime life is the dream. I believe there are no boundaries between dreams and daytime life... As a doctor, I hope to have some control over patients' lives; as an artist, I aim to achieve 'eternity'." - CHEN Jia-Rhon

Since the birth of each of his children, he began to observe their growth and create art inspired by their development – from the moment they learned to walk, dance, play musical instruments, to joining symphony orchestras. As the scenes became more intricate, his artistic approach evolved. Using pastels in layered stacks, he employed an adhesive to fix the pastel particles. After fixing the pastel particles, he could apply another layer of colors, creating another level of spatial depth.
