“Framing Life: Be It People, Events, Time, Place, or Objects. Framing in Paintings: Whether Planned or Accidental. With Age Comes a Broader Vision, and with It, an Evolving Perspective—From Noticing the Colors of the World to Pursuing the Wonders One Longs For.” — Wang Wen

"The convergence of fate and circumstances" gathers the images and landscapes captured by artist Wang Wen in various moments of serendipity and opportunity. Some may stem from intentional arrangements, while others arise from unexpected coincidences. As she grows older and gains more life experience, Wang Wen’s perspective continues to expand. She blends the natural scenery of daily life and the landscapes of her inner aspirations with personal emotions and viewpoints, expressing the beauty of every encounter as a testament to the intricate weave of fate.

Wang uses lacquer as her medium, skillfully incorporating natural materials such as mica powders, seashells, and eggshells. Through a meticulous process of layering, polishing, and burnishing, she reveals delicate textures and vibrant colors. The complexity and unpredictability of lacquer painting, with its infinite possibilities, is precisely what captivates her. With vivid colors and ornate compositions, Wang portrays the richness and diversity of the world. Her surreal imagery metaphorically represents the ideal world she yearns for. Intricate lines and brushwork intertwine with various materials to create a richly layered effect. Her works often feature full, dense compositions with minimal blank space—this intense visual tension distinctly reflects her unique artistic style. Since childhood, Wang has been deeply impressed by the brilliant feathers of peacocks, an element that has become a significant motif in her work, symbolizing people’s yearning and well-wishes for a beautiful life in modern society.
