HUANG Chiou-Yue's artwork emerges from the narrative of life's diverse experiences, from the overlapping inner universes of existence, and from the interplay between the stillness and movement of emotions in the inner world. It involves repetitive exploration and breakthroughs, sedimentation, and sublimation. Thoughts extend infinitely in the illusion-like space-time, where emptiness and fullness interweave to create an endless realm of imagination. As Susanne K. Langer once mentioned: Art is the creation of symbols for human emotions, and any form of art, whether singular or diverse in expression, serves to convey the most primal feelings within the human heart.

HUANG Chiou-Yue sees the act of creation as a spiritual endeavor, a solitary and slow process of deep self-dialogue. It requires stepping out of one's self at different stages of life. In the interplay between tradition and modernity, East and West, reason and emotion, he seeks to discover himself through his artistic expression. The results of his work emerge after continuous contemplation and struggle among conflicting aspects. Tangible narratives can no longer satisfy his inner needs, and the intangible forces that result from introspection drive his work towards simplicity. He transforms familiar everyday symbols into abstract visual expressions.

Taiwanese mid-generation female artist HUANG Chiou-Yue has received numerous accolades, including the top prize at the National Art Exhibition. She has been invited to participate in art exchange exhibitions both domestically and internationally. In 2020, she held a solo exhibition at the National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Her journey with Apollo Art Gallery began in 1997 with her first solo exhibition, followed by exhibitions in 2000 and 2002 at the gallery. After a 21-year hiatus, she returns to Apollo Art Gallery with approximately 16 new abstract works. You are invited to explore the most primal and profound feelings within yourself through HUANG Chiou-Yue's abstract creations.
