黃歌川「冰裂紋蠟染」作品,呈現如冰裂開的紋路,變化無窮,充滿立體感,讓人不經意地想要觸碰。特別是,黃歌川用冰裂紋技法,來表現樹皮的紋路、水流動的波紋、山石的肌理等,增加畫面的趣味性。

國際冰裂紋蠟染畫先驅 ─黃歌川研發獨創技法,將傳統蠟染工藝,跨入現代繪畫領域,重新賦予蠟染新的生命,對世界蠟染藝術發展史上,留下不可磨滅的貢獻。因作品不可複製,獨一無二,在市場上極為稀有。

上世紀50年代,黃歌川參與台灣現代繪畫運動,與朱德群、楊英風、陳庭詩等人,分別創立「中華民國畫學會」、「中華民國版畫學會」等,為今日台灣藝術發展奠定基業做出貢獻。

作品入選世界三大藝術展之一的巴西聖保羅國際雙年展、歷屆全國美展(免審查資格)等國內外聯展與個展無數,並獲國立歷史博物館、福建省美術館等國內外機構與私人藏家典藏。

黃歌川其名列入文化部戰後台灣美術叢書,以及國史館民國人物傳記之中。國立歷史博物館從2021起,每年8月14日訂為史博黃歌川日。

 

 

The Beauty of Ice-Crack Batik Painting by HUANG KO-CHUAN

HUANG KO-CHUAN created works featuring patterns akin to cracks in the ice, full of multifarious and stereoscopic sense, tempting one to touch them.

In particular , Huang expressed the patterns of objects such as tree bark, water flowing waves, mountain stone texture through Ice-Crack techniques to give his works a sense of playfulness.

As an international pioneer in Ice-Crack Batik Painting HUANG KO-CHUAN created the exclusive ice-crack batik dyeing technique. Huang elevating traditional handicraft batik into modern art forms while infusing it with new life. Huang made an indelible contribution to the global development of batik art. As his works are unique and one of a kind, they are very rare on the market.

In the 1950s, Huang took part in the Taiwan Modern Painting Movement and established the Graphic Art Society of the Republic of China, the Art Society of the Republic of China, along with Chu Teh-chun, Yang Yu-yu, and Chen Ting-shih . Such are Huang’s contributions to setting the foundation for Taiwan’s art development today.

Huang’s artworks were selected for numerous solo exhibitions and domestic/international joint exhibitions e.g. Bienal de São Paulo in Brazil, which is one of the world’s top 3 art exhibitions, and highly sought after by institutions and private collectors in Taiwan and overseas, such as National Museum of History Taiwan and Fujian Provinical Art Museum.

Huang is listed in books on Taiwan’s post-war art development compiled by the Ministry of Culture, as well as biographies of people from the early Republic published by Academia Historica. From 2021, the National Museum of History has appointed Huang Ko-Chuan Day on August 14 every year.
