Apollo Art Gallery will showcase the works of six artists at the 2023 STARRT illustration Art Fair, held at Room 1505 of Tai Urban Resort in Kaohsiung. Among them is the seasoned artist KAO Yung-Chung, who has dedicated many years to the art scene. Additionally, four promising emerging artists, namely HUANG Fa-Cheng, HUANG Chih-Cheng, TSENG Shi-Han, and HUANG Yan-Jun, will present their unique styles. The exhibition also features two international artists: Yukio Takahashi from Japan and Uwe Mertsch from Germany. Each artist employs different media to create distinctive and captivating artworks.

KAO Yung-Chung, uses the simplest geometric shapes such as ○×△, and intertwining parallel and diagonal lines, the artist creates an elegant and flexible diamond pattern. Symbols like English letters and numbers are also incorporated. Through the interplay of lines and colors, the artist weaves together a visually rhythmic composition.HUANG Fa-Cheng, had received accolades such as the Kaohsiung Art Award and Taipei Art Award, this artist focuses on current affairs and environmental issues, reflecting on the interaction between humans and nature. Primarily using acrylic pigments, they outline contours with ink lines, presenting contradictions between elements in a humorous manner.HUANG Chih-Cheng, was selected as a rising artist at Art Taipei . Combining ink with foil material, the artist imbues the artwork with a metallic sheen and texture. They focus on the formation of phenomena, believing that the boundaries of all things are ambiguous.TSENG Shih-Han, has been awarded the Newcomer Award in Colored Ink and the Yushan Award at the Taoyuan Art Exhibition, uses layers of transparent colors in ink wash paintings. The artist presents minute particles shining like light flashes, creating an ethereal and dreamlike inner atmosphere in their artworks.HUANG Yan-Jun, once won the Composition Taiwan First Prize, utilizes red copper to sculpt needle-like leaves resembling cacti attached to the forms of animals. This symbolizes modern humans developing a balanced way of life to defend themselves. Japanese Artist,Yukio Takahashi, a devoted cat enthusiast, intricately captures the fluffy fur, various postures, and expressions of cats using colored pencils.Uwe Mertsch, employs collage techniques, combining acrylic pigments, ink, wood, paper, velvet, and other materials. With bold and neat lines and colors, the artist creates relief-like new pop art pieces.
