"Artistic Conception"
The concept of “artistic conception” refers to a realm that transcends physical reality—a space perceived and felt by the heart and mind. Through art, artists express their inner worlds and create unique aesthetic realms. In the 2025 Art Taichung fair, Apollo Art Gallery will present works by nine artists:
YEH Tung-Jinn
YEH Tung-Jinn focuses his creations on the theme of "mountains," using oil pastels as his primary medium. Through intricate layering, he delicately portrays mountainous landscapes, swirling mists, and the interplay of light and shadow. Merging Eastern philosophies of landscape with the visual language of Western contemporary art, he transforms nature into an inner landscape, evoking a serene and transcendent atmosphere.
Lo Tsen
Lo Tsen extends the rhythm and cadence of calligraphy onto canvas, preserving traditional Eastern aesthetics while embracing the freedom and innovation of modern art. Her work reflects a deep understanding of the convergence between Eastern and Western cultures and explores themes of human interconnectedness and universal values.
HUANG Chiou-Yue
HUANG Chiou-Yue’s abstract works burst with expressive brushstrokes and intense, pure colors—like a visual carnival that radiates vitality. To her, painting is an essential part of life and a way to both observe the world and engage in self-dialogue. She intertwines external imagery with internal emotion, using her brush to explore the flow of feelings and the rhythm of the soul.
BAE Soo-Young
Bae Soo-Young, a Korean artist with a doctorate from Osaka University of Arts, integrates chrome-like colors, circuit board textures, and symbols such as hearts and butterflies. Through this visual language, she explores emotional connections and existential meaning. She views art as a vessel for emotional energy and a medium for dialogue between the individual and the era, with a style that blends futuristic aesthetics and philosophical reflection.
HUANG Chih-Cheng
HUANG Chih-Cheng creates hazy, shimmering imagery using metallic foils (aluminum, silver, copper), combined with ink, watercolor, and cotton threads. Known for his use of negative space and collage techniques, his work questions the construction of contemporary reality through personal interpretation of phenomena.
Matti Isan Blind
Matti Isan Blind, a graduate of Chelsea College of Arts in London, works across diverse media, including sculpture, photography, installation, kinetic art, and time-based works. His art often blends elements of reality and fiction. He has exhibited internationally in shows such as Fischgrätenmelkstand in Berlin, Cacotopia in Manchester, and Emergency Room in New York.
Uwe Mertsch
Uwe Mertsch, a graduate of the Düsseldorf Art Academy, has held two solo exhibitions at Apollo Art Gallery and participated in numerous international art fairs, including Berliner Liste, Art Praha, and Art Taipei. His work blends minimalism and pop art, spanning painting and handcrafted sculpture.
Yukio Takahashi
Yukio Takahashi draws inspiration from his love of cats, observing their behavior in daily life to explore the dynamics of “loving and being loved.” Using colored pencils, he delicately renders the soft, fluffy texture of cat fur, capturing their spirit with remarkable realism. His works have been featured in international exhibitions such as LE SALON in France and Natuurlijk Natuur in the Netherlands.
LIAN Chia-Shin
