DESCRIPTION:冉茂芹 油畫寫生 個展\n藝術家｜冉茂芹\n展期｜2026.03.07 – 2026.04.07\n地點｜阿波羅畫廊\n台北市大安區忠孝東路四段218-6號A棟2樓 \n\n\n\n冉茂芹 油畫寫生 個展｜光影拾歲 \n長期以風景和肖像畫作為創作核心，冉茂芹的繪畫實踐，並不止於對地點或景象的描繪，而是透過藝術家的視角去觀看我們所在的世界。回顧其創作歷程，1990年至2015年間，他於台灣多處地景及日本創作寫生。這些地點橫跨不同文化與自然條件，並未在展覽中被作為旅行紀錄或地域比較的對象，而是為藝術家反覆進入同一種創作狀態的不同場域。本次展覽透過許多風景作品，呈現藝術家與繪畫之間所建立的觀看方式。 \n  \n對冉茂芹而言，旅行繪畫並不是為了捕捉壯麗景觀或是標誌性景點，而更接近一種「田野式」的創作行動。他堅持對景寫生時，讓自身實際置身於風景之中，在現場觀察光線、空氣、結構與時間的流動。無論是在日本河岸長時間凝視光影變化，或是在台灣田疇、城市邊緣駐足作畫，繪畫皆發生於當下。 \n《落日蘭嶼》以夕光中的船隻與海岸為構圖主體，畫面中略帶想像色彩的造型與柔和光線，使風景呈現出介於現實與感受之間的靜謐氛圍。 \n在肖像繪畫方面，冉茂芹的畫風承襲俄羅斯畫派嚴謹細膩的寫實傳統畫法，展現出紮實醇厚的功力。溫和高雅的色調運用，使畫中人物流露出一種內斂、優柔溫潤的氣質，形象清晰而非流於形式上的描摹。 \n值得注意的是，這些肖像多半來自不同文化背景與族群，有些是來臺的交換學生，有些則是旅途中相遇的人等等。無論膚色或文化差異，冉茂芹皆以同樣的觀看方式與創作態度，使人物形象在畫布上展現出跨越地域與文化差異的共通性。 \n《黔東南苗家女》描繪在結婚前的苗族少女，畫面透過服飾、色彩與姿態，呈現當地文化中蘊含的節慶氣息與生命喜悅。\n《貴妃遙想》以唐代人物為創作起點，冉茂芹透過層次豐富而內斂的色彩處理，使歷史人物在畫面中呈現出兼具想像與情感重量的肖像形象。 \n  \n冉茂芹並不將寫實視為單純的複製畫面，而是追求一種介於再現與轉化之間的狀態。他曾引用齊白石所言：「妙在似與不似之間，太似為媚俗，不似為欺世」，作為自身創作的核心精神。在畫面中，透過構圖的取捨、筆觸的節奏，以及顏料厚薄的層次變化，保留感受尚未定型的時間痕跡。這樣的處理，讓作品不僅描繪所見之景，更呈現一種具有生命力度的靈光。 \n本次展覽恰逢春季開展（2026年3月7日至4月7日），時節上的呼應，更讓展覽多了一層重啟的象徵意義。藝術家冉茂芹曾提及，前幾年的春天受疫情影響，心境容易感到鬱卒，但隨著畫展的舉辦，心情也隨之雀躍起來，這本質上就是一種心理上的重啟 。 \n\n\n\n藝術家簡歷→冉茂芹\n虛擬展廳→欣賞\n\n\nYIM Mau-Kun Oil Painting from Life – Solo Exhibition A Decade of Gathering Light and Shadow \nOpening｜Saturday\, March 7\, 2026\, 15:00\nExhibition Dates｜March 7 – April 7\, 2026\nArtist Talk｜Saturday\, March 28\, 2026\, 15:00 \nLong devoted to landscape and portrait painting as the core of his practice\, Yim Mau-Kun’s work goes beyond the depiction of specific sites or scenes. His painting is an ongoing act of seeing that unfolds through movement and presence. Reviewing his artistic trajectory\, from 1990 to 2015 his exhibited works encompass numerous locations across Taiwan—including Taichung\, Keelung Islet\, Kaohsiung\, Nantou\, Yilan\, Longtan in Taoyuan\, and the back hills of Xindian—as well as sites in Japan such as Nagaokakyō\, Kyoto\, Nara\, Osaka\, the Kōya River\, and Fukuyama Botanical Garden. Though these places span diverse cultural and natural conditions\, they are not presented as travel records or regional comparisons. Rather\, they are treated as different fields in which the artist repeatedly enters the same creative state. Taking this as its point of departure\, the exhibition brings together landscapes from multiple regions to reveal how Yim establishes a distinctive and sustained mode of looking through movement\, pause\, and the act of painting. \nFor Yim Mau-Kun\, painting while traveling is not about capturing spectacular views or iconic landmarks; it is closer to a form of “fieldwork.” He insists on painting directly from life\, placing his body within the landscape and observing light\, air\, structure\, and the flow of time on site. Whether lingering along riverbanks in Japan to contemplate subtle shifts of light and shadow\, or pausing to paint amid Taiwan’s farmlands\, botanical gardens\, and urban fringes\, his paintings emerge in the present moment and maintain a direct\, intimate relationship with their surroundings. \nSunset at Lanyu centers on boats and coastline bathed in evening light. The slightly imagined forms and gentle illumination create a tranquil atmosphere suspended between reality and perception. In portraiture\, Yim Mau-Kun’s style inherits the rigorous and refined realism of the Russian academic tradition\, demonstrating a solid and mature command of form. His use of restrained\, elegant color imbues his figures with a quiet\, tender\, and warm temperament—clearly defined yet never reduced to mere outward likeness. \nNotably\, many of these portraits depict individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds—some exchange students visiting Taiwan\, others people encountered during the artist’s travels. Regardless of differences in skin color or cultural origin\, Yim approaches each subject with the same distance of observation and creative attitude\, allowing the figures to embody a cultural presence that transcends geography. Miao Girl from Southeast Guizhou portrays a Miao girl before marriage; through costume\, color\, and posture\, the painting conveys the festive spirit and vitality embedded in local culture. Consort’s Reverie takes a figure from the Tang dynasty as its point of departure; through layered yet restrained color treatment\, Yim renders a historical figure imbued with both imaginative resonance and emotional weight. \nYim Mau-Kun does not regard realism as the faithful replication of detail\, but as a pursuit of a state of seeing that lies between representation and transformation. He has often cited Qi Baishi’s words—“The marvel lies between likeness and unlikeness; too much likeness is vulgar\, too little is deceitful”—as a guiding principle of his practice. Through compositional choices\, the rhythm of brushwork\, and variations in paint thickness\, his landscapes remain poised in this “between\,” preserving traces of time before sensation fully settles. Such an approach allows the works not only to depict what is seen\, but also to reveal a vital\, living aura. \nOpening in spring\, the exhibition gains an added layer of symbolic renewal through the season itself. Yim Mau-Kun has mentioned that in recent years\, springtime under the shadow of the pandemic left him feeling subdued\, yet the staging of exhibitions rekindled a sense of joy—a psychological reawakening at its core. This transition from melancholy to delight is vividly embodied in his decades-spanning works painted from life. Each begins with nature as a point of departure\, drawing inspiration from flowers and trees\, mountains and seas\, waterfalls\, animals\, and the rhythms of life\, revealing the vitality and flourishing energy of all living things. Lacquer\, a medium derived from nature\, requires meticulous processes such as layering\, polishing\, and repeated refinement. Through the passage of time\, it is distilled into art. Immersed in nature\, the artists build and carve layer upon layer\, transforming inner landscapes of stillness into a unique radiance. \nSenior artist CHEN Shu-Hwa graduated top of her class in oil painting from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University\, later earning a Ph.D. in Art History in Paris\, embodying both artistic practice and academic achievement. In the 2000s\, she encountered lacquer art by chance and became captivated by its natural texture and timeless simplicity\, devoting herself to its practice. Returning to her alma mater as a professor\, she has since dedicated herself to teaching lacquer art. Raised in the rural countryside of Changhua\, nature has been a boundless source of joy for her. With delicate and composed brushwork\, she depicts the natural world alongside memories from her childhood. In “Prosperity and longevity together\,” blooming peonies and a bird perched on a branch present a vision of nature in full abundance. The subtle sheen and reflections within the composition evoke the quiet breath of nature\, offering viewers a sense of balance and serenity. \nLIN Yu-Ju received the First Prize in the Second “Go To Taiwan” competition\, as well as First Prize in the Taiwan Image Painting Competition organized by the Spring Breeze Culture and Arts Foundation\, for which she created “Butterfly in Flight” on a red Fazioli grand piano. Grounded in reflections on land and environment\, she integrates lacquer techniques with painterly language\, employing optical illusions of light and shadow to construct a visual field between abstraction and landscape. Her works transform into “memory landscapes” shaped by shifting light\, rhythm\, and perception\, metaphorically reflecting the collective consciousness formed within the rapid flow of contemporary information. “Sunlight waterfall\,” inspired by Shifen Waterfall\, evokes the powerful of digital information\, akin to a radiant\, multifaceted world reminiscent of a rainbow-hued abyss. \nWang Wen was awarded Third Prize in the Second “Go To Taiwan” competition. Her works are distinguished by the intricate textures and vivid colors characteristic of lacquer painting. The “peacock\,” a cherished childhood memory\, becomes a surreal symbolic motif\, merging everyday natural scenery with an inner realm of aspiration. In “Urbanites’s peek\,” a close observation of roadside trees in the city recalls the كث lushness of forest ferns and the grandeur of a peacock displaying its plumage. Through this\, she expresses a hope that even within ordinary life\, one may retain ideals and create something extraordinary. \nThis exhibition is made possible through the kind invitation of Chairperson Chen Hsiu-Li of the Wang Chun-Feng Culture and Arts Foundation. DESCRIPTION:《夜遊者》練佳昕 個展\n展期｜\n2026.04.11 – 05.30\n開幕｜\n2026.04.11 (六) 15:00\n藝術家與談｜\n2026.05.09 (六) 15:00\n→ 報名 \n  \n練佳昕以膠彩作為創作媒材，運用礦物顏料細緻堆疊色層，建立出沉靜而內斂的畫面節奏，並以藍色作為作品中反覆出現的重要視覺語彙。對她而言，藍色不只是夜晚的色彩，也是一種能夠承載情緒、時間感與空間感的表現方式。 \n本次展覽以〈藍夜〉與〈城市裡的夜遊者〉系列為主軸，呈現藝術家近年對夜間城市景象、生活場景與心理感受的觀察與轉化。藝術家將攝影中的取景經驗帶入繪畫，透過多視角的畫面安排與構圖轉換，使作品不只是對外在景物的描繪，也包含對生活經驗與內在狀態的整理。畫面中的空間往往安靜、開闊，帶有停頓感，呈現夜晚特有的節奏與觀看方式。 \n在練佳昕的作品中，人物並不常直接出現，但畫面並非全然空無。桌上的甜點、冒著熱氣的器物、室內微亮的燈光，或遠方城市的光點，都成為暗示生活痕跡的重要線索。這些細節使畫面在冷色基調之中保有溫度，也讓作品所描繪的夜色不只是寂靜，更帶有某種與日常相連的親近感。 \n除了室內與街景題材，展覽中也可見海洋、建築與城市邊界等較為寬廣的場景。巨大的自然或建築空間，映照出人與環境之間的尺度關係，也進一步擴展了作品對「夜遊者」狀態的思考。練佳昕並不刻意強調孤獨或疏離，而是透過夜色中的光線、物件與空間安排，引導觀者重新觀看那些平日容易略過的細微片刻，重新思考熟悉景象中的陌生性，並開展出介於現實與感知之間的敘事層次。 \n練佳昕，畢業於國立臺灣藝術大學書畫藝術學系，曾參與「楊桃派—阿波羅畫廊新銳藝術家助長計畫」聯展，並於2023年獲得新北市美展膠彩類第三名，以及於2024的台南藝博以及2025年的台中藝博於阿波羅展位展出作品，逐步累積創作能量與展覽經驗。 \n  \n→ 練佳昕 簡歷 \n\n“Night walkers” —  Solo Exhibition by LIAN Chia-ShinOpening｜11.04\, 2026 Sat. 15:00Duration｜11.04 – 30.05\, 2026Artist Talk｜09.05\, 2026 Sat. 15:00 \n \n  \nLian Chia-Shin works primarily with nihonga-inspired mineral pigments\, meticulously layering colors to construct a quite\, restrained visual rhythm. Blue serves as a recurring and essential visual language in her practice. For the artist\, blue is not merely the color of night\, but a means of carrying emotion\, a sense of time\, and spatial perception. \nThis exhibition centers on the series Blue Night and Night Walkers in the City\, presenting the artist’s recent explorations and transformations of nocturnal urban landscapes\, everyday scenes\, and psychological states. Incorporating her experience in photographic framing into painting\, Lian employs multi-perspective compositions and shifting viewpoints. Her works thus move beyond depictions of external scenery\, becoming reflections on lived experience and inner conditions. The spaces within her paintings are often quiet and expansive\, imbued with a sense of pause that captures the distinctive rhythm and mode of perception associated with nighttime. \nFigures rarely appear directly in Lian’s work\, yet her compositions are far from empty. Desserts placed on a table\, steaming vessels\, softly lit interiors\, or distant city lights all act as subtle traces of human presence. These details introduce warmth into her cool-toned palette\, allowing the nocturnal scenes she depicts to feel not only tranquil\, but also intimately connected to everyday life. \nIn addition to interior and street scenes\, the exhibition also features broader subjects such as the ocean\, architecture\, and urban boundaries. These vast natural and built environments reflect the relationship of scale between humans and their surroundings\, further expanding the notion of the “Night walker.” Rather than emphasizing loneliness or alienation\, Lian uses light\, objects\, and spatial arrangements within the night to guide viewers toward moments that are often overlooked. Through this process\, she invites a reconsideration of the unfamiliar within the familiar\, unfolding a narrative that exists between reality and perception. \nLian Chia-Shin graduated from the Department of Calligraphy and Painting Arts at National Taiwan University of Arts. She has participated in the group exhibition“Young &Top – Apollo Gallery Emerging Artist Exhibition”and was awarded Third Prize in the Nihonga category at the 2023 New Taipei City Art Exhibition. His practice seeks to capture the dynamics of disappearance and rebirth within the gaps of imagery. Transforming reflections drawn from personal life experiences into abstract sensations of flow\, he explores how existence continuously shifts through time\, revealing the ambiguity and uncertainty of the boundaries between all things. \nA distinctive feature of his work lies in his signature use of metallic foil techniques. Through layered applications of foil and ink\, the surfaces produce subtle\, shadow-like flickers that change according to light and viewing angle\, evoking the unstable and fluid qualities of memory as it glimmers and drifts through the mind. By combining traditional ink painting training with the reflective qualities of metal\, his mixed-media approach breaks away from the flatness of the picture plane\, creating a visual space that is DESCRIPTION:  \n黃至正，《時雪》 84×59cm，2025年 墨.複合媒材.銀箔.韓國壯紙 \n《時雪》植根於黃至正對物體脆弱性與時間流動的著迷。創作脈絡常往返於年幼記憶與現實之間，以「雪」這類轉瞬即逝的自然意象，隱喻生命中難以留存的片刻與佚失的時間。作品關注的是在習以為常的平庸日子裡，暗示另一個知覺性世界存在的可能。藝術特色展現在銀箔與韓國壯紙的媒材對話。透過噴墨轉印、塗抹與刮擦，他形塑出極具開放性的神祕圖像，銀箔在此營造出如雪地般純淨、冷感且脆弱的肌理。畫面的影像邊界曖昧且模糊，彷彿正隨著時間消散。這種技法不僅保存了生命幽微的一刻，也藉由箔材「剛硬與脆弱」的二元性，引發觀者產生深刻的悼念與生命同理。\n  \nHUANG Chih-Cheng\, Temporal Snow\, 84×59cm，2025 Ink\, Mixed media\, silver foil on paper \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHUNAG Chih-Cheng’s Temporal Snow is rooted in his fascination with the fragility of objects and the flow of time. His creative practice often moves between childhood memories and present reality\, using fleeting natural imagery such as “snow” as a metaphor for transient moments and lost fragments of time that resist preservation. The work reflects on the possibility of another perceptual world existing beneath the familiarity of ordinary daily life. \nIts artistic language is distinguished by the dialogue between silver foil and Korean janggji paper. Through inkjet transfer\, smearing\, and scraping techniques\, Huang constructs enigmatic and highly open-ended imagery. The silver foil evokes a texture that is pure\, cold\, and fragile\, reminiscent of a snow-covered landscape. The boundaries of the image remain ambiguous and blurred\, as though gradually dissolving with time itself. Through this process\, the work preserves a subtle and fleeting instant of life while simultaneously invoking a profound sense of mourning and empathy through the dual nature of the foil material—both DESCRIPTION:   \n黃至正，《川流》 150×105cm，2025年 墨.複合媒材.銀箔.韓國壯紙 \n藝術家在影像的縫隙中捕捉生命消逝與重生的動態，他細膩觀察日常生活，著迷於周遭的光影變化，化為抽象的流動感，探討存在如何於時間中不斷位移，反應出萬物界線的曖昧與不確定性。作品以窗景為題，以銀箔為底，疊加墨、顏料墨水與水性顏料於韓國壯紙上。其特色在於利用銀箔反射出的冷冽光芒與墨色的幽深層次交織，呈現出如河流般波光粼粼卻又莫測的深度。透過金屬箔材隨環境光呈現出的多變面貌，畫面在靜止中仍保有流動的錯覺，使抽象的「記憶長河」轉化為可被觸知的物質存在。\n  \nHUANG Chih-Cheng\, Riverine 150×105cm，2025 Ink\, Mixed media\, silver foil on paper \nHUANG Chih-Cheng captures the dynamics of disappearance and rebirth within the gaps of imagery. Through careful observation of everyday life and a fascination with shifting light and shadow\, he transforms these impressions into abstract sensations of flow\, exploring how existence continuously drifts through time and revealing the ambiguity and uncertainty of the boundaries between all things. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis work takes the motif of a window scene as its point of departure. Using silver foil as a foundation\, layers of ink\, pigmented ink\, and water-based pigments are applied onto Korean janggji paper. A defining characteristic of the work lies in the interplay between the cold reflective glow of the silver foil and the deep tonal layers of ink\, creating a surface that shimmers like flowing water while retaining an unfathomable depth. Through the ever-changing appearance of metallic foil under ambient light\, the image maintains an illusion of movement even in stillness\, transforming the abstract notion of a “river of memory” into DESCRIPTION:展期｜預約制\n2026.06.20 – 2026.08.17\n→ 報名  \n開幕｜預約制\n2026.06.20 (六) 15:00\n→ 報名 \n圍欄不只是物理性的阻隔，更是文明運作的象徵。文明的建立，往往伴隨著對其他生命自由的限制。人類藉由「界線」區分舒適與危險、文明與荒野，並在這些界線之中重新定義生命存在的位置。 \n本次聯展邀請黃法誠與官孟玄兩位藝術家，透過各自不同的創作語言，共同回應當代人類與自然之間逐漸複雜的關係。兩人的作品皆關注「人為環境」如何重新塑造自然，也同時指向人類在文明社會中的矛盾處境：我們無法真正離開文明，卻始終對自然抱持想像；我們試圖接近野性，卻又不斷以秩序、景觀與觀看機制重新限制它。 \n \n黃法誠長期關注都市環境中的「人造風景」。他認為，台灣多數林相其實皆經過人為改造，無論是行道樹的修剪、山林景觀的整理，或樹木的遷徙與支撐，都顯示出自然早已成為文明系統的一部分。他將這些現象視為人與自然互動的隱喻。 \n在創作中，黃法誠大量挪用都市中常見的「樹木支架」作為符號。自然生長的樹木原本不需要支架，但當樹木被迫遷移、離開原生土地後，便需要依靠支架固定與支撐才能存活。藝術家進一步將「樹」與「人」的角色相互置換，描繪人物利用支架做出武術、飛行、攀附等動作。那些看似輕盈甚至帶有幽默感的姿態，實際上卻透露出一種被結構限制的狀態：人類雖然藉由文明追求自由與進步，卻也同時被文明本身所建立的秩序、欲望與規範所固定。 \n黃法誠的畫面經常出現紅線、水池、擋土牆與人工景觀等元素，並以壓克力顏料結合墨與金蔥粉，營造出灰濛、不穩定且帶有擬像感的空間氛圍。那些看似自然的風景，其實皆經過人工安排與修整。他曾在中國見到整排被塗上相同高度白漆的行道樹，那種高度一致的景觀令他聯想到政治與權力系統中的規格化秩序；而在山陀兒颱風侵襲高雄後，他也持續記錄那些被吹倒、裸露根部的樹木，藉此回望城市與自然之間脆弱而矛盾的關係。 \n官孟玄則從另一種角度切入。她的創作長期圍繞「逃避文明、逃避自然」的矛盾狀態。她關注人類既離不開文明的保護，卻又持續嚮往自然與野性，而這種對自然的想像，往往只能透過一種被重新建構的「中間景觀」來完成。 \n在她的作品中，公園、動物園等場域被視為文明與自然之間的過渡空間。人類透過限制自然、模擬自然與重現自然，打造出一種近似烏托邦的幻覺。然而，這樣的幻覺極其脆弱，只要秩序稍微失衡，人們便會意識到其中的「不自然」。 \n官孟玄早期以版畫創作為主，近年則以數位繪畫作為主要媒材，並以細膩、安靜且帶有距離感的畫面風格，描繪動物園中的風景與動物。其作品《Views from the zoos》入選 2026 義大利波隆那插畫展（BCBF Illustrators Exhibition）。 \n對官孟玄而言，動物園始終是一個充滿矛盾的地方。當觀眾凝視被圈養的動物時，究竟看見的是動物本身，還是人類自身對自然的欲望與投射？她引用 John Berger 在〈為何凝視動物？〉中的提問，重新思考動物園作為觀看場域的意義。在她的畫面裡，動物經常呈現出缺席、躲藏、停頓或如同幽靈般的狀態，觀眾不斷尋找牠們的位置，卻也逐漸意識到，真正被觀看的，也許是文明本身。 \n在《A zoo in winter》系列中，她記錄了冬季赫爾辛基動物園的經驗。位於海中孤島上的動物園，在寒冷、空曠與缺乏遊客的狀態下，呈現出極度安靜甚至近乎超現實的氛圍。動物們彷彿消失在霧氣與空景之中，只留下觀看者在園區裡不斷尋找與凝視。那些問題——「熊在哪裡？」「老虎在哪裡？」「誰在這裡？」「我在哪裡？」——不再只是尋找動物的位置，而更像是對人類自身存在狀態的提問。 \n兩位藝術家的作品雖然形式不同，卻共同指向當代文明中的一種深層矛盾。黃法誠描繪的是被支架固定、被遷徙的樹木；官孟玄關注的是被圍欄圈養、被觀看的動物。兩者皆揭示了人類如何以保護、美化、管理與觀看之名，持續介入並重塑自然。 \n展覽中的支架、紅線、圍欄與人工景觀，不只是視覺元素，同時也是一種文明結構的象徵。那些看似輕盈、幽默甚至安靜的畫面背後，實際上反映的是人類對秩序、舒適與控制的依賴，以及自然在高度文明社會中逐漸被取代、模擬與規格化的過程。 \n當真實自然逐漸缺席，人類所觀看與接近的，也許早已不是自然本身，而是一種被重新設計過的風景。 \n  \n→ 黃法誠、官孟玄 簡歷 \n  \nFences of Civilization\nArtists｜HUANG Fa-Cheng\, Kuan Meng-Hsuan \nExhibition｜By Appointment Only\n2026.06.20 – 2026.08.17\n→ Registration \nOpening｜By Appointment Only\n2026.06.20 (Sat.) 15:00\n→ Registration \n  \nFences \nA fence is more than a physical barrier; it is a symbol of how civilization operates. The construction of civilization has always been accompanied by restrictions placed upon the freedom of other forms of life. Through boundaries\, humanity distinguishes comfort from danger\, civilization from wilderness\, while continually redefining the place of life within these divisions. \nThis two-person exhibition brings together Huang Fa-Cheng and Kuan Meng-Hsuan\, whose distinct artistic practices explore the increasingly complex relationship between humanity and nature. Although working through different visual languages\, both artists examine how human-made environments reshape nature\, while revealing the contradictions embedded within contemporary civilization. We cannot truly exist outside civilization\, yet we continue to romanticize nature. We long to approach the wild\, only to constrain it once again through systems of order\, landscape\, and observation. \nHuang Fa-Cheng has long focused on the notion of the “artificial landscape” within urban environments. In his view\, much of Taiwan’s forests have already been transformed by human intervention. Whether through the pruning of roadside trees\, the management of mountain landscapes\, or the transplantation and support of trees\, nature has gradually become an integral part of the civilizational system. For Huang\, these phenomena serve as metaphors for the relationship between humans and the natural world. \nA recurring motif in Huang’s paintings is the ubiquitous tree support frame found throughout cities. Trees growing in their native environment require no such structures. Yet once uprooted and relocated\, they depend upon artificial supports to survive. Huang further blurs the roles of trees and humans by depicting figures performing martial arts\, flying\, climbing\, or balancing with the aid of these supports. While these gestures appear lighthearted and even humorous\, they subtly reveal a condition of structural constraint. Civilization promises freedom and progress\, yet simultaneously binds humanity within the systems of order\, desire\, and regulation that it has created. \nHis paintings frequently incorporate elements such as red guide lines\, pools\, retaining walls\, and constructed landscapes. Combining acrylic paint with ink and glitter\, Huang creates hazy\, unstable spaces imbued with a sense of simulation. Landscapes that appear natural are\, in fact\, carefully designed and maintained. He recalls seeing rows of roadside trees in China painted with identical bands of white\, their uniformity evoking standardized systems of political authority and power. Following Typhoon Krathon’s devastation in Kaohsiung\, Huang also documented uprooted trees with exposed roots\, reflecting on the fragile and contradictory relationship between the city and nature. \nKuan Meng-Hsuan approaches similar questions from another perspective. Her practice revolves around the paradox of simultaneously escaping civilization and escaping nature. She explores humanity’s dependence upon the protection of civilization while continuing to yearn for nature and wilderness. Yet this longing can only be fulfilled through a reconstructed intermediary landscape. \nWithin Kuan’s work\, sites such as parks and zoos function as transitional spaces between civilization and nature. By restricting\, simitating\, and reconstructing nature\, humanity fabricates an illusion that resembles a utopia. Yet this illusion remains profoundly fragile. The slightest disruption of order immediately reveals its artificiality. \nInitially trained as a printmaker\, Kuan has in recent years shifted toward digital drawing as her primary medium. Through meticulous\, quiet\, and emotionally restrained imagery\, she depicts landscapes and animals within zoos. Her series Views from the Zoos was selected for the 2026 Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition. \nFor Kuan\, the zoo remains an inherently paradoxical place. When visitors gaze upon captive animals\, are they truly seeing the animals themselves\, or merely witnessing humanity’s own desires and projections onto nature? Drawing upon John Berger’s influential essay Why Look at Animals?\, she reconsiders the meaning of the zoo as a site of observation. Animals in her images often appear absent\, concealed\, motionless\, or ghostlike. As viewers continue searching for them\, they gradually realize that what is truly being observed may\, in fact\, be civilization itself. \nIn her series A Zoo in Winter\, Kuan documents her experience at Helsinki Zoo during winter. Situated on an isolated island surrounded by the sea\, the zoo becomes extraordinarily quiet under cold weather\, empty pathways\, and the near absence of visitors. The atmosphere borders on the surreal. Animals seem to dissolve into mist and vacant landscapes\, leaving only the viewer wandering through the grounds in search of them. Questions such as “Where is the bear?”\, “Where is the tiger?”\, “Who is here?”\, and “Where am I?” no longer concern the animals’ whereabouts alone\, but evolve into reflections upon the human condition itself. \nAlthough differing greatly in form\, the works of Huang Fa-Cheng and Kuan Meng-Hsuan ultimately converge upon a shared contradiction within contemporary civilization. Huang portrays transplanted trees secured by supporting frames\, while Kuan examines animals enclosed by fences and subjected to human observation. Together\, their works reveal the ways in which humanity continually intervenes in and reshapes nature under the names of protection\, beautification\, management\, and surveillance. \nThroughout the exhibition\, tree supports\, red guide lines\, fences\, and artificial landscapes function not merely as visual motifs\, but as symbols of the structures of civilization itself. Beneath their seemingly light\, humorous\, or tranquil appearances lies a deeper reflection on humanity’s dependence upon order\, comfort\, and control\, as well as the gradual replacement\, simulation\, and standardization of nature within highly civilized societies. \nAs authentic nature steadily recedes\, what we encounter—and what we believe we are approaching—may no longer be nature itself\, but a landscape carefully redesigned in its image. \n→ CVs of HUANG Fa-Cheng and Kuan Meng-Hsuan

The exhibition is inspired by her 2025 trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) in the Himalayas of Nepal\, as well as her residency experience in Corsica\, France later that year. Through layered applications of Nihonga\, ink\, and mineral pigments\, the artist reconstructs the relationship between natural landscapes and inner perception. \nIn recent years\, TSENG’s artistic practice has gradually shifted from figurative narratives toward spiritual exploration. Confronting changing climates\, physical limits\, and moments of self-reflection within high-altitude environments\, she transforms mountains\, rivers\, animals\, and energetic sensations into spiritual traces embedded within her paintings. Many works employ the traditional crumpling-paper technique in Nihonga\, layered with mineral pigments\, synthetic mineral pigments\, and earth pigments to create textures reminiscent of geological formations. The artist also presents handmade paper works for the first time\, depicting mystical spiritual creatures and imagined beings. \nTSENG Shih-Han has maintained a long-term relationship with Apollo Art Gallery. Her earliest participation with the gallery dates back to Young Art Taipei 2016 (YAT 2016)\, followed by Young & Top\, Apollo Art Gallery’s emerging artist support project\, in 2017. DESCRIPTION:黑貓域｜高橋行雄 個展 ╳ 恆。好\n展期｜\n2026.04.28 – 07.28 \n本次展覽邀請日本藝術家高橋行雄，出生於日本東北地方的岩手縣，自1989年開始他以「貓」為主題，創作張張栩栩如生的作品。曾連續十年獲選參展法國LE SALON的他，在法國更是以「貓畫家」的美名備受肯定。從他的創作中，可以感受到他不僅是一位愛貓的紳士，同時對貓性格也瞭如指掌。自身為飼主，藉由長期對貓的觀察，描繪出貓各種動人的姿態及容顏，猶如花朵般地在一瞬之間綻放！行雲流水般的色鉛筆技法，畫出蓬鬆茸茸的貓毛，似棉花糖般的輕盈。高橋將自己對藝術的執著，透過貓系列的作品創作傳達給欣賞者，從而療癒人心。同時，高橋更關注「愛與被愛」，隱約流露出飼主給予愛，貓接受飼主的愛，展現飼主與貓之間互動的重現。 \n恆。好是阿波羅畫廊位於屏東恆春的空間，自2017年起，定期安排展覽展出，為阿波羅畫廊拓展南臺灣的據點。 \n→恆。好 \n  \n\nTakahashi Yukio Solo Exhibition\nDuration｜\nMid-April – Mid-July\, 2026 \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis exhibition features Japanese artist Takahashi Yukio\, who was born in Iwate Prefecture in the Tohoku region of Japan. Since 1989\, he has centered his work on the theme of “cats\,” creating vividly lifelike pieces. Having been selected for the prestigious LE SALON in France for ten consecutive years\, he has earned wide recognition there as the renowned “cat painter.” \nThrough his work\, one can sense that he is not only a gentleman who deeply loves cats\, but also someone who thoroughly understands their nature. As a cat owner himself\, his long-term observation allows him to capture a wide range of expressive feline postures and appearances—each moment blooming like a flower in an instant. With fluid\, graceful colored-pencil techniques\, he renders the cats’ soft\, fluffy fur with a lightness reminiscent of cotton candy. \nTakahashi conveys his dedication to art through his cat series\, offering viewers a sense of warmth and healing. At the same time\, his works subtly explore the theme of “love and being loved\,” revealing the tender relationship between owner and cat—the love given by the owner and received by the cat—capturing their intimate interactions. \n“HunHau” is Apollo Art Gallery’s space located in Hengchun\, Pingtung. DESCRIPTION:墨日重生｜劉默霖 個展\n展期｜\n2026.08.08 – 09.12\n開幕｜\n2026.08.15 (六) 15:00\n藝術家與談｜\n2026.08.22 (六) 15:00\n→ 報名 \n  \n阿波羅畫廊將推出藝術家劉默霖個展《墨日重生》，本展以當代水墨為媒介，重新詮釋海洋生態與人類文明之間既親密又脆弱的關係。藝術家以海龜、珊瑚、魚群、建築與人造物作為主要視覺元素，在傳統水墨的線條、皴擦與細膩筆觸中，開展一場介於療癒與衝突之間的深海寓言。 \n《墨日重生》延續劉默霖長期對海洋生態、城市環境與文明發展的關注。作品透過擬人化海龜的日常行為，將社群文化、消費習慣、科技依賴與環境污染等當代社會現象，轉化為荒謬卻真實的海底日常。海龜戴著耳機、滑著手機，或穿梭於食物、品牌與外送平台等符碼之間，看似幽默輕鬆，實則映照人類生活方式對自然環境造成的深層影響。 \n在展覽中，動物不只是畫面中的主角，更成為人類文明的鏡像。那些出現在海洋生物身上的物件，看似戲謔，卻指向真實存在於海底的漂流物與污染痕跡。藝術家藉由水墨的流動性與滲化性，將海底世界轉化為介於真實與夢境之間的「後自然山水」：珊瑚如山脈般堆疊，潮汐、島嶼與建築交錯其間，文明遺跡隱沒於海陸邊界，也暗示著人類與自然之間難以切割的依存關係。 \n展名中的「重生」，並非回到未受破壞的原點，而是在污染、暖化、珊瑚白化與文明侵襲之後，生命仍然持續修復、流動與重新生長的狀態。劉默霖將自身視為一位「海上花藝師」，重新編排海底生態、山水結構與文明遺跡，使海龜擬人化、珊瑚山水化，讓建築成為精神棲居的所在。當世界逐漸崩解，墨色仍持續流動，生命也在潮汐之中悄然重生。 \n劉默霖為台灣當代水墨藝術家，現任復興商工美術科主任，畢業於國立臺灣藝術大學書畫藝術學系碩士，目前亦於國立臺北教育大學博士班進修。其創作與教學、研究並行，長期探索水墨在當代語境中的轉化可能，並曾多次參與國內外藝術博覽會與水墨交流展。 \n劉默霖與阿波羅畫廊已有持續合作關係。藝術家曾於 2024 年在阿波羅畫廊舉辦個展《默契》，並多次參與阿波羅畫廊於台北藝術博覽會、台中藝術博覽會、台南藝術博覽會、新竹藝術博覽會等展位展出。此次《墨日重生》個展，亦可視為藝術家在前一階段創作脈絡之後，進一步將水墨語彙、海洋生態與當代文明議題深化交織的重要呈現。
