王琦穗 Wang Chi-Sui

創作理念
王綺穗的創作建立於視覺感知與時間經驗的交會點上，關注影像如何成為記憶與本體之間的中介。她以模糊、殘影與不穩定的觀看狀態，構築一種介於顯現與消逝之間的視覺場域，使觀看本身成為一種對存在的反思。其長期創作以「水具有記憶」為方法論隱喻，將水視為承載身體、歷史與身份流動的感性媒介。「水滴」系列不僅描繪水的物理狀態，更指涉離散、遷徙與未被命名的地方經驗，隱約映現台灣島內移民史與藝術家對原住民身份的內在探問，使作品成為一種緩慢而持續的記憶書寫。

Artist Statement
WANG Chi-Sui’s practice is situated at the intersection of visual perception and the experience of time, exploring how images function as mediators between memory and being. Through blurred imagery, afterimages, and unstable modes of seeing, she constructs a visual field suspended between appearance and disappearance, where the act of viewing itself becomes a reflection on existence.

Her long-term practice adopts the notion that “water holds memory” as a methodological metaphor. Water is treated as a sensorial medium that carries the fluidity of the body, history, and identity. Rather than merely depicting the physical properties of water, her Water Droplet series evokes experiences of displacement, migration, and unnamed places. Embedded within these works are subtle reflections on Taiwan’s internal migration history and the artist’s ongoing inquiry into her Indigenous identity, transforming each painting into a slow and continuous act of writing memory.
